For years, I've noticed numerous abandoned buildings/factories, in my town. I've decided to go ahead and do a series of photographs of the various buildings.
Later, I will include descriptions of the buildings' pasts and their general locations.
Jersey City has a lot of old turn of the century industrial buildings. When I was in school, I would stretch canvas for an old painter who had a studio there. Beautiful old redbrick buildings. I think the specific building was used for cloth fabrication? All the buildings in the vicinity had a certain mysterious feel to them, as if they begged you to tell their story, and tantalized with an aroma of the depth richness and complexity of those tales.
My area has gotten really bad about having empty buildings all over the place. I absolutely love the look of the buildings, but it is sad they're no longer in use.

Buildings are probably my favorite "subject" to photograph.
